Sry man. This take is rough to even hear. This single line of dialogue implies massive problems in the writers room, that's why its bad. It's 'the' distilled seed of incompetence... the line transcends Poe saying it, it's a true fourth wall annihilation. It alone denigrates MAJOR past events in universe, shreds established rules in universe, makes the previous 2 movies either giant red herrings or smoking guns, and it's delivered as a line that the audience is just supposed to accept despite zero set-up and massive implications (at the end of a trilogy). It's not shocking. Its not clever. It's lazy. It's objectively bad writing, It's so bad man. The inherent laziness of borrowing previously established gravitas by obscurely reviving a dead character in one line is sickening. MAKE YOUR OWN VILLIAN! Oh wait, they killed him... sry Snoke. That revelation changed everything. It's a pre-Disney Star Wars light saber to the gut for most fans. Well done Rian, you're one of the people of all time.

it's bad because it's indexical of the bad writing of the trilogy in general. those words are only spoken because there is no explanation as to why Palpatine returned. a scene should only be included in a movie if it somehow drives the narrative along. the purpose of this scene is to explain why Palpatine is back, but it doesn't do so, so should have been replaced with one that did. a good alternative would be if the scene was to display people's shock and surprise at Palpatine returning, and then in a later scene an explanation could be given

I don't understand why people don't look into the lore of Star Wars more instead they just hate with no reason behind it. what many people like @kingjabon don't realize about Palpatine's return is that it does not destroy Anakin's prophesy. Palpatine even says "nothing will stop the return of the Sith. so Yes, Anakin brought balance destroying the Sith and himself so now there's 1 light side user Luke and 1 dark side user Palpatine. Anakin's children were meant to keep the balance Anakin made but they failed. so, the force made a dyad to stop the Sith from retuning. and when Palpatine took the dyads power for himself All the Jedi of the past had to step in and give Rey the strength to Endor the power of the dyad long enough for Palpatine to be destroyed by the very power he wanted. which i find as a more fit death then him just falling down the death star fent. and him cheating death also happened in the old canon and in almost the same way with essence transfer. and his master also was close to becoming immortal himself so it's not like Palpatine had no knowledge to work with. and one last note for people who still think poe saying "somehow Palpatine returned" was bad writing. what was he supposed to say? would you have waned a pilot with hardly any knowledge of the force explain to a band of rebels how the emperor used an ability not even Yoda or Luke knew about to transfer his soul to a clone of himself on a planet only the Sith knew of? that would have been 100 times more lore breaking. I'm not saying the movies are perfect but the fact a lot of the "fans" the claim to love Star Wars are the same people who bullied the prequel fans and also hated on Lucus into selling Star Wars and then the prequel fans grow up and follow in the last generations example and hate on the Sequel fans.

The reason the line is aboslute hobo garbage water is not only because it completely undoes everything that was set up before, not only because it breaks a massive rule of writing, which is a setup and payoff, not only does it turn the force into basicaly a random magic ex machina but the main reason is because it establishes a point in the sequel trilogies that anything can happen at anytime for no reason and no explanation will be given this is especially true in the rise of skywalker. The movie is carried by complete contrivances and random and unexplained events. This is why the sequel trilogies are not only bad starwars movies but just bad movies in general. Now I understand you say po just says the emperor is back and he wouldn't have the ability to know why this is true, but then again, it begs the question, why have him say this? Why not get another character to say it and explain it? It's still shit writing, and the fact that you yourself said po wouldn't be able to explain, this is added proof of the level of shit writing this is. Also to say that the worst of the squel trillogy in the rise of skywalker is better than the best of the prequels is absolute and utter delusional mental gymnastics and I question your understanding of not only literature but your ability of understanding writing and the writting process overral. You can like the sequels, but you can not deny these movies are garbage.

I don't recall anyone saying that line was "bad dialogue" so much as "bad writing." Sure, it makes sense for the character to say that in universe, but that is not the standard for what makes good dialogue. The reason people make fun of this line so much is because it perfectly demonstrates how nonsensical the decision was to bring Palpatine back. Your mustache man example demonstrates this perfectly. If it happened in real life, everyone would be shocked and perplexed because it makes no sense, and all you could say is, welp, somehow he came back 🤷‍♂. And that's exactly what this line is, it's the writers shrugging at the audience. "IDK he's back whaddya want from me?" Hope this helps.

Dont know why we need this when last year we got 1-4 pkus the Directors cut of 4 in 4k . All you have to do is buy Rocky Balboa in 4k and add it to the collection. Not really missing much with not having a 4k of part 5 , also i believe by next year we will get a directors 4k cut of part 5 which is a way better movie.

It's terrible. The story, the actor who played the Flash. The bad cameos. The bad cgi. Only Keaton Batman and Supergirl were good. And Clooney was hilarious at the end I will say I loved that, and I hated Batman and Robin. What doesn't make sense it doesn't fit Keaton's Batman world set up by Tim Burton, and it doesn't fit Snyderverse. It's a very strange mash up. Spider-Man No Way home was better, I can't imagine Deadpool 3 will be worse.

I quite liked MaXXXine also but I myself preferred X of the three. I just found the farm setting and kills a bit more interesting in it. All three are fantastic though and I'm glad that A24 gave MaXXXine a much larger release after the cult status of X and Pearl. I didn't even get the chance to see either of the first two in theatres as they never played near me.

The flash was a horrid and terrible “movie”. It looks terrible, handles everything terribly, and is downright brain rot. Excluding the Ezra miller situation the cg cameo fest was the final nail in the coffin. The absolute disrespect displayed by ( without asking permission from the actor’s families mind you) was abysmal. The film would’ve (imo) been better if it wasn’t the multiverse charting adventure you love so much. My father who was a diehard comic fan all his life saw the flash with me and still hates on it every chance he gets. Thinking back on that half baked story and all around cancer of a movie I can’t stop myself from thinking “ no wonder this movie flopped”. ATSV was a movie that looked amazing and was amazing. Everything down to its themes and subtle details was a complete masterpiece. The title of the film was ACROSS the spider verse so why would you criticize it for taking the viewer across the multiverse and seeing all the spider people it has to show. The intimacy of the spidermen still exists between Gwen, Peter B Parker, hobie brown, pravitir, 2099, and miles, it’s just shown in a wider scale with other characters. The comment about fan service in ATSV irked me the wrong way because of the disrespectful scenes in the flash and the fact that spider verses cameos actually had something to do with the plot via the spider society. I don’t want to touch on the NWH stuff for long but the Andrew and Tobey weren’t needed like you said but they did improve the movie and served the plot unlike the flash scene. The NWH cameo characters end up teaching Tom’s spidey valuable lessons that improve his character. Now, let me say, I did not make this comment to take shots at you dude. I just saw so many issues with this video that I wanted to start a discussion and state my opinions and problems I had with your takes. I’d like to hear more about why you think this about these movies ( although they may be goofy or outlandish which doesn’t seem off-brand). And as a filmmaker I wanted to criticize rather than tear down this video.

I still haven't seen Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, but I like The Flash a lot more than Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

I know this is an old video But it seems like the audience in that screening might be those annoying ass stoners you see at jack in the box or taco bell at 1am I too had theater experiences that i don't like There was this one time where i was watching black adam in theaters with my friends and some guy was talking durring the trailers and one guy got annoyed and yelled shut up at him There was also a time where i saw annibelle comes home (mind you i used to like this film when i first saw it mainly because of the lack of jumpscares and more reliance of practical scares, i havnt seen it since) then that one guy yelled something and i got annoyed because i was trying to enjoy the film Thank god alamo drafthouse is a theater that keeps their priorities in check, even so sometimes its better to watch a film at home 123movies ftw
